Ngram: hereafter, lifetime, birthday

Here’s a Ngram chart that shows change in the use of three words: hereafter, lifetime and birthday.

What does it say about a time when the word hereafter appeared frequently, while the word birthday (and lifetime) only rarely?

 

Here’s a variation using the words life, death and hereafter. For most of these years it appears that the first two words were in a “life and death struggle” to predominate, until the word life began its unstoppable ascent, leaving the word death far behind (and hereafter, by comparison, barely appearing).
