I don’t like the sensation of fright, including the kind one may find in films—even in musical scores!

When I snapped this photograph, it was an exercise to see how a mere shadow could suggest something frightening.

With Halloween coming soon, I can understand why fright is today’s prompt.   However, Halloween originally had no association with fright, and I can only wish it were still so.

  1. Just like you, I too can not bear frightful images of any kind. But my goodness, what a picture this is! So, here’s my “reframe” of it: It is a person holding on for dear life–not willing to let go and give up! That “hand” is a reminder of the strength of the human spirit. Hope. (I know someone who has this quality in spades!) ; )
