Poems of Memory and Forgetting
Most of the poetry that you’ll see posted in the next few weeks will touch upon memory and forgetting—part five of the collection “Memory, Knowing, Belonging”.
Most of those poems were written during a period when my memory seemed quite impaired, which made me imagine seriously how progressive memory loss might feel. Fortunately, in my case, I was just terribly sleep deprived; I’m now much more respectful of sleep. Even so, I am grateful for the humbling experience of something no one really wishes to contemplate.
